administratori am in my sixteenth year as a faculty member at Illinois and see my gradual migration into administrative work as a organic part of my professional trajectory. i enjoy leadership positions that allow me to develop a broader view of both my particular field and higher education in general. i also believe that my administrative work is an opportunity to use the experience i have gained as a senior faculty member in service to guiding my institution and mentoring my junior colleagues.

function as an Associate Provost, with a special interest in creativity and innovation. represent the Provost on a variety of campus-wide committees that deal with issues such as: general education, interdisciplinarity, humanities and the arts, art and engineering, budget reform, instructional space, under-represented students.Associate Director, School of Art+Design, 2007 - present.
